Karen Hubert CNHP, NC, founder of Clear Mold, has firsthand experience recovering from mold and Candida-related illnesses. In her 30s, while working in a research building in Charleston, SC, she developed severe, debilitating symptoms, including seizures, motor skill loss, and speech issues, leading her to be wheelchair-bound and bed-bound at times. She faced speech loss, seizures, heart palpitations, vision changes, and more, while struggling to find answers, in and out of the ER. After years of misdiagnosis, Karen found her path to wellness through the knowledge of yeast, mold, and Candida, inspired by Doug Kaufmann’s TV show Know the Cause. Karen trained in nutrition, was introduced to ozone therapies, launched her own company Total Health Coach, and worked with various health organizations, ultimately developing unique coaching methods to support patients suffering from mold and Candida.    

In 2004-2006, Karen worked in two Candida-focused clinics and saw the power of Chlorine Dioxide (CD) therapy paired with high-dose Nystatin, but realized that true recovery required lifestyle changes.

 

Later from 2004 to 2020, Karen worked for Mosaic Labs® and Biocidin Botanicals®, where she deepened her knowledge and became VP of Biocidin®. 

 

Her personal journey sparked a passion for helping others, including those with Autism-like symptoms linked to Candida and biofilm issues. Karen continues to share her story, empowering both patients and practitioners to pursue comprehensive recovery strategies. Clear Mold® and A Well Space® were born out of her heart’s desire to be able educate and encourage more people to create lasting healing and health for themselves.

Anita Harmon, our other Co-founder, can relate as well.  Having lived in multiple moldy homes, she too was greatly affected.  Dealing with multiple neurological and liver issues, she reached out to Karen for help. Together they created a plan to get Anita on her journey to health.  Anita joined the team at Biocidin Botanicals® sharing her story and helping practitioners at multiple conferences. Today, Anita continues on her healing journey and looks forward to helping others on theirs as well.

Alicia DiBianca CPT (ACE) Empowering others to be their healthiest, happiest, and favorite selves has been Alicia’s mission for decades. Her journey began at age 12, working in her father’s Physical Therapy Department, which later inspired her to become a personal trainer and yoga instructor. However, a severe case of Candida caused by a heavy round of antibiotics during her senior year of college forced Alicia to rethink her approach to health, fitness, and life. As her body and mind struggled, she shifted her focus from just physical rehabilitation to a more holistic approach—emphasizing injury and disease prevention, nutrition, and mindset.

 

Alicia not only healed her gut and overcame other side effects like chronic tendonitis, but she also achieved her long-time dream of competing in bodybuilding—a goal that once seemed impossible after her experience with Ciprofloxacin.

 

Years later, in the summer of 2024, Alicia’s passion for holistic health was reignited when she discovered mold in her home. Thankfully, she had connected with Karen months earlier, and reaching out to her for help sparked a series of serendipitous events that ultimately led her to join the ClearMold® and A Well Space® teams.
