When the Water Recedes, Another Real Danger Begins
Our hearts and prayers go out to the families and friends who have lost loved ones and who have been injured in this past week's floods in Texas and North Carolina.
In the aftermath of devastating floods and storms, families and volunteers step bravely into soaked homes and broken communities—ready to clean-up and rebuild. But what many don’t realize is that one of the most dangerous threats lingers long after the water is gone: mold.
At Clear Mold Foundation, we are active in helping survivors and volunteers protect their health during flood and storm cleanup. With every donation, you help us supply protective gear, natural antifungal solutions, and critical education to protect the health of those in harm’s way.
Your Support Could Be Life-Saving
Mold exposure doesn’t just cause sneezing or headaches. Left unchecked and improper clean-up can lead to chronic respiratory issues, neurological problems, and even systemic infections for long periods of time and potentially le
ad to unexplained illness. That’s why we prioritize distributing not just supplies—but knowledge. Here's what we teach and supply to keep cleanup crews and homeowners safe:
Post-Flood Health Protocols: What You Can Do
1. Body Protection
Cover every part of your body—especially hair follicles and airways:
Protective suit, mask, gloves, goggles, shoe covers, or rubber boots.
Disinfect gear post-use with ozonated water or antimicrobial cleaners like Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE).
Use antifungal body wash or shampoo to eliminate spores on the skin.
Antifungal nasal sprays are essential to protect the sinuses—where mold spores love to hide and wreak future havoc on health.
2. Air Safety
Before entering any affected space:
Ozonate or fog with natural antimicrobial sprays like Superstratum
Diffuse essential oils with antifungal properties like oregano, or tea tree.
Spray and treat sleeping quarters, vehicles, suitcases, and gear to prevent cross-contamination.
3. Internal Defense:
Support your immune system with:
Vitamin C, D, probiotics, garlic capsules, and Biocidin.
Continue using an antifungal nasal spray to guard airways.

4. Mold-Safe Nutrition
Avoid sugar and alcohol—mold and other pathogens thrive on them.
Hydrate with clean water.
Prioritize clean proteins and whole foods to rebuild energy and resilience.
5. Nervous System Care
Mold toxins can impact your mood, memory, and nerves. Support your recovery by:
Stretching, deep breathing, clean fresh air, prayer, meditation, or yoga.
Ensuring restful sleep in clean, mold-free environments.
Staying calm in the chaos—mental health is as vital as physical.
6. Prevent Cross-Contamination
Never bring contaminated clothing or tools into clean areas like your car or sleeping quarters.
Keep a “clean zone” for your safe gear, clothes, and sleeping bags.
Important: The EPA advises against using bleach for mold clean-up, as it doesn’t effectively penetrate porous surfaces and can make the problem worse. Natural, non-toxic options are safer and more effective.
